What's inside a camt.053
Acct– the account (IBAN) and currencyBal– balances, with type codes such asOPBD(opening booked) andCLBD(closing booked)Ntry– one entry per booking: amount,CdtDbtInd(CRDT/DBIT), booking and value dates, bank transaction codeNtryDtls/TxDtls– details of the counterparty, end-to-end ID and remittance information. A single entry can contain several transactions (a batch).
Versions
You will see namespaces such as camt.053.001.02 (older, very common) and camt.053.001.08 or later. The newer versions move some names, for example the debtor name from Dbtr/Nm to Dbtr/Pty/Nm. A converter must handle both.

- For accounting and reconciliation: camt.053.
- For today's cash position: camt.052.
- To see what is inside a batch booking: camt.054.
