Google Photos Takeout Metadata Fixer

Google Takeout strips the "date taken" and location from many photos and puts them in separate .json files. This tool matches every photo to its JSON (including .supplemental-metadata.json, (1) duplicates, -edited copies and truncated long names) and writes the data back. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Free: up to 500 photos per run; JPEG dates + GPS written into EXIF; every file's modified time set to the date taken in the ZIP. Pro ($19 once): unlimited files and MP4/MOV video dates (QuickTime creation time).

What is changed: JPEG → EXIF DateTimeOriginal/CreateDate/ModifyDate, OffsetTime, GPS (only if missing, unless you tick overwrite). MP4/MOV (Pro) → creation time in the movie/track headers. PNG, GIF, HEIC, WebP, RAW → not rewritten; only the file date inside the ZIP is set (most photo apps fall back to it). Your original files are never modified – you get a new ZIP.
